What are the spa hours?
Essentiels is open 7 days per week! Our hours are:

Essentiels is closed on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Is Essentiels a full-service spa?
Yes. Essentiels is a full service salon and day spa offering a wide variety of services including hair, makeup, waxing, manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, electrolysis,
and many other great services and treatments. Please explore our website, menu of services,
or call us for more details.
What methods of payment do you accept?
Essentiels accepts cash, debit cards, personal checks with an in-state address and valid California
State ID, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Essentiels Gift Card or Certificate, Spa Wish or Spa
Finder gift cards and certificates, and SmartBox. If you are paying with any form of gift card/certificate
or have a promotional discount or coupon, we request that you present it to the receptionist upon check-in.
What is your product return policy?
All returns must be accompanied by the original receipt and are only valid within 30 days of purchase.
Returns are accepted for store credit only. No cash refunds. Damaged, used, sale or discontinued items
may not be returned. Additionally, when items are purchased as a set, we can only accept returns of complete
sets, not individual items. Clothing and lingerie, sale items, and 'as is' items, are also non-returnable.
Do you sell gift cards or certificates?
Gift Cards are available in any amount and for any service. They are perfect for all occasions and are elegantly
wrapped as a complimentary service to you. Gift Cards can be purchased in spa or online at EdaySpas.com.
Essentiels also features many luxurious hair and skincare products, cosmetics, fragrances and other accessories
in its full service boutique and online store.
Will my Essentiels Gift Card or Gift Certificate expire?
Your Essentiels Gift Card or Gift Certificate does not expire.
What is the difference between an Essentiels Gift Card and Instant Certificate?
Essentiels Gift Cards may be purchased in store, over-the-phone, or online. Gift cards come exquisitely wrapped and
may be shipped anywhere in the United States via US Priority Mail for $5. Essentiels Instant Gift Certificates are
only available online and are customized by you. They may be printed real-time to your printer or emailed to the
recipient of your choice. Instant gift certificates are immediately activated upon validation of an authorized payment.
I received an Essentiels Gift Card for a service that I am not interested in experiencing. What can I do?
Your Essentiels Gift Card holds the dollar value of the service purchased. That said, if your card is more that 1
year old, pricing is subject to change. For example, if you have received a Gift Card within the last year for a
Signature Facial, your Gift Card has a monetary value of $80.00. Prior to this time, a facial service may have cost
less. You may contact our reservations specialist at Essentiels to check the balance of your card, and inquire about
any additional funds that may be needed for your respective spa service. You are also welcome to apply your Gift
Card toward any Essentiels service or retail product, not just the one that may be specified on your gift card tag. Simply notify a guest services associate of your intentions at check-out. It is that easy. Note: Gift Cards are
non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
I received a paper gift certificate that is for a Facial with an assigned service provider, may I change the service or provider?
Any paper gift certificate from Essentiels that indicates a specific service and service provider may not be exchanged
for another product or service. These gift certificates carry no-cash value, represent donated service(s) by specific
service provider and can only be redeemed with the service provider(s) listed. This policy does not apply to Instant
Gift certificates printed from Essentiels website. Please contact Essentiels Reservations Specialist for more information
regarding your online gift certificate.
What are the prices of all the services Essentiels offers?
Base service prices are included at the back of the service menu and are also posted on Essentiels' website. Some service
prices will vary depending on the client's specific requirements, provider performing the service, or if there are any active
promotions or discounts. Essentiels reserves the right to modify, discontinue, or raise prices on any service without prior
notification to ensure maximum quality standards are upheld
Are gratuities included?
Gratuities are not included in the services and are entirely up to our guest's discretion. You may tip the provider directly
at the conclusion of your service or indicate your tip intentions at check-out with the Front Desk Receptionist.
Are children permitted at Essentiels?
Children are welcome in the salon by appointment only. Out of courtesy to all our guests, children under the age of 16 are not
permitted in the spa.
Do you allow cell phones and pagers?
In order to maintain a tranquil environment, we request that you turn off your cell phone and/or pager when visiting our spa.
Additionally, we ask you to limit your cellular use in the salon or retail boutique out of respect for other guests and patrons.
Can I smoke at Essentiels?
Essentiels is a non-smoking facility.
Does Essentiels allow for private parties and groups?
Yes, please call 661.654.0321 and speak with our Spa Coordinator.
APPOINTMENTS
Do you accept walk-in appointments?
We gladly accept walk-in appointments, however, we recommend you try to schedule your appointments in advance to ensure your needs
can be met.
How far in advance should I schedule my appointment?
We recommend that you book your next appointment prior to leaving Essentiels, so that we can be sure to accommodate your wishes.
In the event this is your first appointment or you were unable to book a future appointment at your last visit, we suggest you allow
at least one week prior to the desired appointment time and be prepared with alternate dates and times. Weekend and evening
appointments generally book quicker, so please factor more advanced notice for these appointments. As a courtesy to you, we will
confirm your appointment a day in advance.
What if I need to cancel my appointment or forget to show?
A credit card or gift card guarantee is required for all packages, electrolysis and spa services. To ensure we provide the best
service possible, cancellations must be received a minimum of 24 hours prior to your appointment. If we do not receive a 24-hour
notice of cancellation, your card on file will be charge 50% of the cost of the service(s) scheduled. Other fees may apply for
salon service cancelations.
What time should I arrive for my service(s)?
If you are enjoying a multi-service spa package, we suggest you arrive at least 15 minutes before your first scheduled treatment. This will allow you time to confirm your itinerary with the Reservations Specialist, put on a robe and sandals if you choose, relax
in our tranquility area and sample some of our exclusive and luxurious products. Note: Should you arrive late for your appointment,
your treatment may be modified to maximize the remaining time without compromising the next appointment. You will still be responsible
for the full cost of your treatment.
SPA SERVICES & PACKAGES
How do I schedule my Spa Package?
First, before calling Essentiels, review your schedule and select a couple tentative dates and times. Then, call Essentiels at 661.654.0321
and ask to speak with our Reservations Specialist. The Reservation Specialist will work with you to schedule all your Spa Package needs. Custom packages are available, so do not hesitate to ask the Spa Coordinator if you would like to make any changes to your package
before scheduling.
May I alter my scheduled spa package the day of scheduled services?
All scheduled packages must give 24 hour- notice of cancellations or changes. Changes made the day of scheduled package will still be
charged half the service price if cancelled.
May I add services the day of my scheduled spa package or spa service?
Alterations to any spa package must be given 24 hrs in advance to ensure confirmation and time efficiency. Essentiels will do our best
to accommodate your alterations.
What should I wear during my spa treatment?
While some treatments may be best experienced without clothing, you are welcome to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. For pedicures,
we recommend you wear open-toed sandals and loose pants, shorts or a shirt/dress.
During all spa treatments, the body is fully draped, except for the area being worked on. We will never compromise your modesty. Robes,
sandals, shower facilities, select toiletries and lockers are available for your use and convenience. For comfort and safety, we suggest you
leave jewelry and valuables at home. Your personal items remain your sole responsibility.
Will I have an experienced Service Provider?
All of Essentiels Service Providers hired come from highly respected schools, are licensed and have met all state and local requirements.
We also continue their education by bringing in experts on regular basis to train them in the most update trends, products, and spa services.
You can feel confident that your service is being performed by a highly trained service provider.
May I ask service providers to make adjustments for my comfort?
Absolutely, this is your treatment; communicate with staff regarding room temperature, pressure and technique.
What are Couple's Massage guidelines?
Essentiels requires all couples to be 18 year or older for a Couple's Room Massage Treatment. Parents and or guardians unfortunately may not
book appointments for those under the age of 18 for a couples massage. Massages although may be booked by parent or guardian for singles room
massage for those under 18 years of age.
Should I shave prior to my spa service?
We recommend that you do not shave before any of our exfoliating services, which may irritate freshly shaven skin. All other spa services will
not be affected whether you shave or not. We do recommend men shave prior to their facial.
What if I am pregnant?
While there are some services that should be avoided during pregnancy, there are many beneficial spa treatments that can be enjoyed by and are
specifically designed for the Mother-to-Be. Essentiels will not perform massage services on pregnant mothers until their second trimester.
Additionally, there are select facials and skincare products that should be avoided. We recommend you consult with your physician first before
visiting the spa. When booking an appointment, please notify our Reservations Specialist if you are pregnant, so we can best serve you.
What if I have special health considerations?
Please notify our spa reservation agent before booking your treatments if you have high blood pressure, allergies, any other physical ailments or
disabilities, or if you are pregnant. If you have any concerns at all, please let us know. If at any time during your services you experience
discomfort, please alert your service provider immediately.
Do you provide any beverages or food options?
Lunch is served daily in Essentiels relaxation area and may be added to any spa service for $25. Click here for Essentiels spa lunch menu.
Champagne or your choice of beverage is provided complimentary. Appetizer platters and other catering options are available for custom spa packages
and private parties. Additional fees may apply. Please ask us for details.
CAREERS
Do I have to be licensed to work at Essentiels?
All service providers performing paid services are required to have a valid City of Bakersfield business license and an active Cosmetology, Esthetician,
Message Therapy or other license required by the respective profession. We recommend you consult the
California State Department of Consumer Affairs - Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and American Massage
Therapy Association for more information.
